Alliance All-Ways Secure can be used with EDI translators
from Extol, Peregrine and Sterling to exchange EDI
documents securely over the Internet.
EDI documents can be securely transmitted to
trading partners using the Alliance SSL FTP client or
the Alliance PGP encryption option.
The Alliance SSL FTP client secures the
communications session using 128-bit SSL encryption.
The SSL encryption technology is the same that
IBM uses in the secure web server for the System i.
The Alliance PGP Option can be used to encrypt
an EDI document using public/private key encryption
technology. Once
encrypted the EDI documents can be securely
transmitted using FTP, email, HTTP and HTTPS web
clients, WebSphere MQSeries, or any other
communications technology.
Integration
with Extol, Inovis and Sterling translators is
accomplished using standard file input and output
translation commands in these products.
A PGP encrypted file can be received on the System i, automatically decrypted, copied to an
System i library, and translated in an automated fashion.
In a similar fashion EDI documents can be
exported from the translator to an System i library,
encrypted by Alliance PGP, and transmitted to the
trading partner using FTP or any other communications
method.
For
customers using a Value Added Network (VAN) such as
IBM Advantis Global Network (now GXS),GXS, or another network, Alliance provides the
communications interfaces you need for secure
communications. The Alliance SSL FTP client has been
certified with IBM’s Information Exchange FTP (IEFTP)
interface for secure communications using PKIX
certificates. Alliance has also been certified to work
with common Internet B2B servers such as Sterling
CONNECT:Enterprise and others.
Alliance
All-Ways Secure adds significant value to existing
translator technologies by providing secure
communications technologies, sophisticated error
notification and recovery, permanent audit trails, and
operations interfaces for better data management.
