XML (eXtensible Markup Language)
Translate XML documents to AS/400 DB2 database files, and translate AS/400 DB2 database files to XML format. Alliance XML/400 contains all of the mapping, translation, communications, automation, and management capabilities needed for integrating XML with your AS/400 applications.

SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol)
SOAP is a version of XML that supports multiple levels and functions (See XML). Translate SOAP documents to AS/400 DB2 database files, and AS/400 DB2 database files to XML SOAP format. Alliance XML/400 contains the translation and communications support for SOAP.

EDI-INT (EDI over the Internet)
Exchange EDI files with trading partners over the Internet using the EDI-INT standard. Alliance AS2 Integrator provides the communications and AS2 standard support to exchange data with Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Meijer, and other trading partners who use AS2 and EDI-INT.

Excel CSV (Comma Separated Values)
Translate CSV files to AS/400 DB2 database files, and AS/400 DB2 database files to CSV format using the Alliance CrossData/400 application. Alliance CrossData/400 is a part of the Alliance FTP Manager product.

SSL FTP (Secure Sockets Layer File Transfer Protocol)
Automatically transmit and receive files using the secure Internet SSL FTP protocol. Alliance FTP Manager provides all of the configuration, communications, automation, and management support you need for SSL FTP transfer. Alliance SSL FTP implements the CCC (Clear Command Channel) command for firewall negotiation.

SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol)
Send email from the AS/400 using the Alliance SMTP client application. Alliance SMTP supports many attachment types including IFS files, save files, DB2 database files, spool files, etc. Command and callable API interfaces are available. Secure connection to mail servers is provided through the AUTH authentication standard. Many Alliance applications incorporate email interfaces. The Alliance NetMail application provides a full green-screen and web interface for sending email.

POP (Post Office Protocol)
Receive email from a mail server directly to the AS/400 using the Alliance POP client application. Alliance implements the POP3 standard and supports user authentication. Attachments are saved to IFS directories for processing by various Alliance applications. POP support is provided in several Alliance applications and in the Alliance NetMail software product.

SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
You can send SNMP trap messages from the AS/400 using the Alliance SNMP trap message commands. SNMP support is integrated into many Alliance applications. Alliance SNMP/400 provides a stand-alone implementation of SNMP support.

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) Sockets
Send and receive data using standard TCP sockets with the Alliance Series TCP/IP product. The product supports persistent and non-persistent connections with a variety of transaction formats.

Send and receive data using standard UDP sockets with the Alliance Series TCP/IP product. You can receive UDP packets with a server application, or send UDP packets with the client application.

PGP Encryption
Encrypt, decrypt, and sign files. Alliance PGP Option is a native AS/400 application that includes a full PGP key management application. Integration with Alliance FTP Manager provides for full automation of sending and receiving encrypted files.

AES (Advanced Encryption Standard)
The Alliance AES Encryption option provides for strong encryption of AS/400 DB2 database files and IFS files directly on the AS/400. You can decrypt the files on the same or different AS/400, or on a Windows platform. Full key management and backup is provided.

DB2 database field encryption
You can use the Alliance AES Encryption option to encrypt credit card numbers, social security numbers, and other sensitive information in DB2 database field without changing the definition of the file. Application APIs and sample code make it easy to implement encryption in your RPG and Cobol applications.

AES encryption with self-decrypting archives
Alliance AES Encryption includes the ability to encrypt DB2 and IFS files into a Windows executable format directly on the AS/400. Once encrypted in a Windows format the files can be sent via email or FTP to a recipient and decrypted on the PC without third party encryption software.

Triple DES (Data Encryption Standard)
Triple DES (3DES) is a standard for strong encryption. Several Alliance application products, including Alliance FTP Manager, provide APIs for encrypting and decrypting data using Triple DES.

PDF is a platform-independent document format. Several Alliance products provide support for creating PDF documents from AS/400 spool file and database information. Alliance FTP Manager contains a report distribution facility that can convert spool files to PDF format and deliver them via email or FTP. An API is also available to convert flat files to PDF format. PDF files can optionally be encrypted with AES. Alliance NetMail can also burst and distribute spool files as PDF documents.

Alliance NetMail can also burst and distribute spool files as PDF documents.

HTML is the language used for web page display. Several Alliance products provide support for creating HTML documents from AS/400 spool file information. Alliance FTP Manager contains a report distribution facility that can convert spool files to HTML format and deliver them via email or FTP. HTML files can optionally be encrypted with AES. Alliance NetMail can also burst and distribute spool files as PDF documents. The Alliance .NET Integrator application can convert HTML forms to XML format for processing by the Alliance XML/400.

ISO 8583
The ISO 8583 transaction format is used in authorization and financial transactions. The Alliance AuthExpress credit card authorization product contains support for ISO 8583 transactions with VisaNet Direct Exchange and with Credit Union Service Corporation (CUSC).  The Alliance FTP Manager product implements support for ISO 8583 transaction exchange with IBM Advantis (Information Exchange).

RS232 / RS422 / RS485 serial communication
Serial communications for the AS/400 is implemented in the Alliance SerialConnect product. Alliance SerialConnect uses TCP/IP sockets to communicate with serial devices using an Ethernet-to-Serial conversion unit. This strategy provides for high performance communications with IP failover capabilities.
